We have all heard the quote "Cinderella is proof that a pair of shoes can change your life." Well I adore a great pair of shoes and running shoes are no exception and they have indeed changed my life. I have previously shared my passion for running here highlighting fitness focused posts. If you follow my blog regularly you know I have embarked on and currently am on a weight loss journey. I am not a natural "runner" or athlete in any way shape or from however, I do LOVE to run. Running provides me with positive energy as its gives me a sense of freedom and accomplishment.
I previously shared with you here that I was participating in The Tinkerbell Half Marathon weekend at the Disneyland Resort for the 2015 activities. The entire week was magical to sum it up. My family and I stayed at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and I participated in the "Pixie Dust Challenge" a running challenge that combines a 10K (6.2) miles on Saturday and a half Marathon (13.1) miles on Sunday for a total of 19.3 miles in two days. It truly was a challenge for me as I had NEVER run a half marathon previously let alone 19.3 miles. "Run Disney" events are fun for me as I am a huge Disney fan and the course allows participants to run though the parks while dressed up and provides photo opportunities with characters and Disney landmarks. It was a personal challenge and accomplishment for me to participate in and complete the runs. I was fortunate to attend New Balances "girls night' event prior to my 10K where a multitude of treats and treatments were available for event attendees and influences. However, I share this experience with you because I think it is is important to remind one another to challenge and push one another to positive achievements. Whether they be personal, fashion, or fitness focused. Prior to my weight loss journey when I tipped the scales at four hundred pounds I never thought I would be participating in half marathons. They say never say never and I am already signed up for my next "Run Disney" half in November and a few other local runs in the next coming months. What could you accomplish if you had the strength to believe, how would you earn your wings?
What has been a challenge you have overcome recently?
