Tech Talk:Blogging Basics

Blogger Post Back Up
This weekend was a busy one I carved out time to volunteer at the The Simply Stylist L.A. Fashion & Beauty Conference. The event was a such a great experience as a blogger I have attended a few conferences but this was my first time assisting at a one behind the scenes. The Simply Stylist team is extremely passionate and inspiring the day was filled with motivating speakers, innovative brands, and of course style.

I spent the majority of the weekend busy with blog maintenance and I'm happy to say that all of my blog images will be back up by the end of this week! Thanks again for your patience and such encouraging messages and emails. I also spent some time researching how to hopefully prevent this from happening again and although it truly should have been blogging 101. I never thought about my individual posts disappearing. I have a back up of my blog template's, images, and what not but not my individual posts.  My blog is built upon the Blogger platform and I'll be prepared with back ups in the future as backing up Blogger posts is easier then picking out a new lip stick shade... It truly takes only four easy steps.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words…. well in that case I can’t even begin to start counting. My blog crashed the other night and I lost ALL of my images. I have already begun to replace and upload images in place of the corrupted files but needless to say this is a labor of love. I can’t express how much I appreciate your patience and support during this well technical difficulty.

Polished:Spring Polish Picks

One of my favorite seasonal beauty routines is transitioning from pall polish colors to bight Spring hues. A few hues that I am looking forward to this season include Deborah Lippmann's light mint and & blush polishes. While the Chanel and Dior polishes I have selected pack bold tropical punches.Last but not least Essie and Tenoverten provide a great sand and sea combination.

Which is your favorite hue?

To Have & To Hold:No. 2

I highlighted my love for handbags and introduced my new on goings series "To Have & To Hold" post last week. Recently I have developed a crush on Drew, "I fell in love slowly and then all at once” that quote is a pretty spot on description of my shopping trips for the most part. Sometimes this is the case other times it is a love at first sight scenario followed by me B -lining for the nearest register. Am I the only one to fall prey to this whirlwind experience of purchasing a handbag or any designer item for that matter? On that note I am sharing few best purchasing practices focusing on research, relationships and my hands on approach. In order to assist with ensuring your handbag purchases are a prefect addition to your wardrobe today, tomorrow, and years from now.

That's A Wrap

That’s a wrap on winter at least here in Southern California this weekend the weather has made that clear with temperatures in the mid ninety's. This week I wanted to showcase a newer addition to my wardrobe an iconic style with a twist. A D.V.F. classic wrap dress with a full colorful skirt that simply put is “twirl worthy”.

Drill Team No.2

Last summer I highlighted a few of my favorite espadrilles in my "Drill Team" post. This season I have opted to break out the espadrilles a bit earlier for spring and summer as I am flat out in love with the chic flat espadrille options this season.

To Have & To Hold: Handbag Series

I have no idea how many handbags I own, have owned, or will own. I’m not a numbers person what I do know is that handbags are always a perfect fit and will always be one of my favorite accessories. This week I am kicking of a new reoccurring series “To Have & To Hold” which will delve further into everything having to do with handbags from various brands. From the history behind a logo to current trending styles. I’ll even share what qualifies as an investment bags and what is a sound everyday bag. In the past I have utilized my skills and passion for handbags as an authenticator, buyer, and yes a consumer.

Transition:Wearing White

Currently I'm in a transition into Spring state of mind here in Southern California and I honestly had to find the courage to wear white. A clothing color choice that in the past I have avoided like the plague. I'm happy that I finally challenged myself to step slightly outside of my comfort zone. I'm not quite ready to take the plunge and wear white pants but have found that I adore J.O.A. skirts due to the clean lines and flattering fit. I previously showcased a similar style in this SILHOUETTE  post.
I wore this outfit to Cecconi's in West Hollywood for their #fashionforbreakfast event series that was hosted by designer Katharine Kidd. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised that "I had received the memo" and that other event attendees were rocking the classic black and white color pallet.

Brush Up:Beauty Tool Maintenance

If your anything like me you spend a decent amount of time taking care of and maintaining your skin and experimenting with new makeup and beauty trends. However, an often over looked part of beauty and skin care routines is brush maintenance. Makeup brushes are an investment whether you utilize synthetic or natural hair brushes. They can potentially be a breeding ground for bacteria. I know not exactly a pretty picture but think of how much bacteria and oil can accumulate on your face daily. Bacteria and natural oils transmit onto your brushes EVERY time they come in contact with your skin. Cleaning your brushes on a regular basis will help with the longevity of your brush investment in addition to improved and healthier skin care. This is especially important for those out there like me with sensitive skin.

I cannot believe it is already March ... truly where does the time go? We are already three months into the new year. March reminds me of all things green and the quote "the grass is greener where you water it".
With that being said I am reminder that now is a great time to touch base and see how you are doing on your respective New Year resolutions or goals. By holding on another accountable we are more likely to achieve our personal goals. The month of March is also a time that reminds me off all things green. Growing up I have always associated the color green with my mother as it is her absolute favorite. In fact she is so in love with the color one her favorite countries is Ireland.
